![]() ![]() Finally the two groups of Demi-gods meet. The narrator does a good job of keeping all of the voices straight.and there are a ton of voices to keep straight. I listened to this on audiobook and, like the previous two audiobooks in this series, this one was very well done. The story is well done and entertaining although with all the different characters we are following now things get a bit drawn out. As with all of Riordan’s book he follows his normal formula. This is the third book in the Heroes of Olympus series by Riordan. Well done continuation of this fantasy series What if he’s now attached to Roman ways? Does he still need his old friends? As the daughter of the goddess of war and wisdom, Annabeth knows she was born to be a leader - but never again does she want to be without Seaweed Brain by her side. What more does Athena want from her?Īnnabeth’s biggest fear, though, is that Percy might have changed. Annabeth already feels weighed down by the prophecy that will send seven demigods on a quest to find - and close - the Doors of Death. In her pocket, Annabeth carries a gift from her mother that came with an unnerving command: Follow the Mark of Athena. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans that the visitors from Camp Half-Blood are coming in peace.Īnd that’s only one of her worries. With its steaming bronze dragon figurehead, Leo’s fantastical creation doesn’t appear friendly. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. Just when she’s about to be reunited with Percy - after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera - it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. If only the House of Hades was attached to the end though, because I am NOT very fond of cliff hanger endings. ![]() It was also great how the book started with Piper and Jason already being a couple, stopping drama between piper and reyna before it began.Īnd the ending. That made the year of waiting worth while and it couldn't have been better. I kind of figured leo and Hazel's past relationship was more magical or something, though, like maybe leo later builds a time machine, but the fact that sammy was his grandfather was amazing, too.ĭon't even get me started on the percabeth reunion. The seven's friendships were amazing and the added drama between frank, leo and hazel made it even better. This was mostly likely my favorite book from the Heroes of Olympus series ( nothing can compete with the original pj series). I don't have that much patience to find out if Percy and Annabeth are okay and if they are able to save the world and stop the civil war from happening. And not to be mean to Rick Riordan( he is amazing) but I can't wait a whole more year. And even though that breaks my heart I think it was a good idea on his part to include new characters, and new plots, though Percy shall always be my favorite. But the thing is, as Rick already said about the HoO series, this isn't just about Percy anymore. I do have my pet peeves though.like the fact that Percy's reunion with the others wasn't mentioned, and neither was his Achilles heel. I mean, come on folks, do you know how hard it is to write the same story from FOUR DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW and NOT bore the reader? Wow. :D I mean it was totally epic, but it left us with more questions than answers in the end.Ī lot of people say this book wasn't Rick's best but personally? I feel he handled it BRILLIANTLY. I see what you mean when you say placeholder haha. It's actually really, really different from anything he's written before, including the Kane Chronicles (if anyone's read that because for some reason people miss it).Īnd yes, he was setting up a LOT of new plots. As I was reading it felt like he was setting lots of thin." I really like the book, but for some reason it felt a little different from the other books he's written.
